Jun 13, 2010 - LONG LOST SONG...
2020xla Says:
Jun 15, 2010 - @lancer525 Don't be a container for other people's opinion. This is a great song if you listen to it the right way. It's hilarious and one of the funniest songs ever. The lyrics are so ridiculous and yet sung in such a sincere way. The reason people have a bad opinion of them is they are taking them too seriously. I have a good laugh every time I hear it on the radio. Imagine the horror of the person Charlene is singing to as she realizes she can't get away.

Jun 19, 2010 - @thewayilook2night Elvis wouldnt have fucked Charlene with Charlenes dick.About the only nasty pussy Elvis ever had was "Charo" but that was a night in Vegas when he was stoned on pills and Vodka, and he thought he was fucking one of those Las Vegas show girls.Charlene couldnt get Elvis's dead body stiff.

Jun 20, 2010 - By the time thing song was a hit, Charlene was long out of the music business and living in London.

Jun 21, 2010 - If I had met Charlene back then it wouldn't have been hard to fall head over heals in love with her.

Jul 2, 2010 - One way or another every woman can relate to this at some point in her life. Ohhhh, so true, every word--if you really listen to the message.

Jul 9, 2010 - So whats she saying is that she had a great life? And being some house wife with a brat is better? HA. If she really believes this why is she trying to be a rock star?
Tieper Says:
Jul 18, 2010 - Interesting. Compare the lyrics with Marianne Faithfull's "Balad of Lucy Jordan" and note a opposite message. While Charlene spent here life being underessed by kings in Monte Carlo, Lucy Jordan rearranged the flowers. Both were dreaming of eachother's lives and were not happy. Mmmmmm....

Jul 22, 2010 - :D they play this song several times a year, so it will be kept alive.cheers, sad song though, wichever movie that was(soundtrack)

Jul 25, 2010 - I'm a discontented mutha. I've been to me loads of times but I've yet to experience paradise. Lyrically we're approaching the Dean Friedman level of excellence. One of my all-timers "I spent my life exploring...", are we allowed to say that word on YouTube?
yt090584 Says:
Jul 25, 2010 - @harwicke lyrics aren't necessarily autobiographical. Bob Marley was never arrested for shooting that sheriff :)
yt090584 Says:
Jul 25, 2010 - @StoogeWatcher Yes, she literally did choose the sweet life, she worked in a sweet shop
