Nov 19, 2009 - You're wrong, yxa86. God's a Catholic.

Nov 24, 2009 - ...Do you even know why the RC Church has statues (Which you erroneously called IDOLS)?Compare a statue with a photograph. Whoever is in the photograph reminds you of him or her right? Sometimes, especially if it's your loved one or your girlfriend/ boyfriend, you even kiss the photograph, as if the picture was the real person. However, can you say that the one kissing the picture "loves" the picture, or the one in the picture?
milopichu11 Says:
Nov 24, 2009 - ...The same with the statues. In fact, statues of saints are, in my opinion, more meaningful, for in those we are reminded of those ordinary people who have done extraordinary things in love and faith(also known as saints), and they deserve to be remembered and honored. The kissing of the statues are also the same with the kissing of the photograph. It's called "veneration", and in venerating a saint, you remember him/her, and ask them to look after you and intercede for them.
milopichu11 Says:
Nov 24, 2009 - Statues are essential for the development of our faith, especially since nowadays many people, because of technology, have thought of the looks and image of Jesus in many crazy ways. (of course, the positions of the men carved as statues must reflect their contributions and deeds here on earth; You cannot expect a statue of Jesus as a murderer, or a drunkard--he must be represented in accordance to how he lived: as a teacher, a priest, and a king)

Nov 24, 2009 - no. St. Peter's has a longer nave. The Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Beauvais in France has a ceiling height which is more higher than St. Peter's (excluding the height of the inner dome.)
Goldberry2007 Says:
Nov 24, 2009 - If St. Peter does have a lnger nave then better inform Wikipedia and ask them to correct it. I should have measured it when I was there...

Nov 25, 2009 - I don't care but I know! It was from the Greeks. The used idols to teach people who Jesus Christ was. But wrong is wrong! Read the 10 Commandments. And if you love Jesus Christ, you will obey Him. (John 14:15) If I love my girlfriend, I let my actions say I love her.

Nov 25, 2009 - When did God establish a religion?
ksucutie124 Says:
Nov 27, 2009 - we as Roman Catholics dont WORSHIP "statues", we pray to them to guide us and know that were just ordinary people, but we can achieve spectacular things.

Dec 22, 2009 - @ksucutie124 you as a roman catholic are going against what your own church says and the Bible. You should never pray to a statue.

Dec 26, 2009 - Mine is this. I can't reconcile why the church possesses all these treasure while they are preaching to help the poor. How is this church living out the vows of poverty? Oh my God! Billions of people are poor while billions of money is in the church. Why is this happening? Is God happy about this reality?

Jan 13, 2010 - This building (St. Peter's basillica) is the mark of the vatican.Take a look at the white house, panama's presidential palace, haiti's presidential palace, el salvador's presidential palace, the sacramento california state capitol building, the utah state capitol building, etc., etc. etc. and you'll see who is behind the governments of the world. The first beast of the book of revelation is the new world order being created by the roman empire.

May 25, 2010 - @leviracion If they weren't billionaires they wouldn't be able to give billions of dollars to the poor. It's that simple. All of the masterpieces rightfully belong to the church because they were commissioned by them, ie, we wouldn't know who these artists even were because they were made famous by their pieces for the church. They are the ones who preserve them. Bill gates would not be able to give to charity if he didn't sustain a fortune to build on, but nobody calls him greedy.

Jun 7, 2010 - I keep thinking that the church will do much better after a lot of the dark secrets, dirty linen, and skeletons in the closets are properly dealt with. But I'm thinking that we need a Solar System Exorcism to remove the demonic forces which torment the church and the world. I enjoyed visiting the Vatican many years ago. I hope to return there someday - on a magneto-leviton train - after visiting a deep underground military base!! I'm quite brave on the internet!!
